Tara Setmayer is a nationally recognized political analyst, democracy advocate, and nonprofit executive with more than two decades of experience across government, media, and civic engagement. Her work has focused on public policy,  accountability, and the protection of democratic norms and
institutions.

Ms. Setmayer currently serves as a Resident Scholar at the University of Virginia Center for Politics, where she collaborated on the Emmy-nominated PBS documentary Dismantling Democracy. Prior to joining UVA,  she was a Resident Fellow at Harvard’s Institute of Politics.

Setmayer studied Political Science and Journalism at The George Washington University and currently resides in Northern Virginia with her husband.
