Less than a month into the new Trump administration, Whistleblower Aid is on the front lines taking a stand against authoritarian rule. We are pushing back on the president’s extraordinary and unprecedented attempts to blow through democratic and legal norms through his dismantling of large swaths of the federal government.
We currently represent government whistleblowers defending our institutions and the rule of law. Our legal experts have been front and center in the media and in the courts explaining what the law is, how the administration is breaking it, and how much is at stake.
Among our recent actions:
- When President Trump revoked our co-founder Mark Zaid’s security clearance over the weekend, a clear act of retaliation and intimidation, it generated widespread media coverage. Suffice it to say, neither Mark nor Whistleblower Aid will be silenced.
- When Trump fired 17 or more Inspectors General – the officials within agencies that investigate whistleblower complaints – we penned a New York Times op-ed condemning it.
- When the administration started firing senior officials at the DOJ and FBI, Mark Zaid and our Chief Legal Counsel Andrew Bakaj successfully sued to halt the identification of FBI agents who worked on January 6 cases, and both he and Andrew appeared on MSNBC to explain how these firings affect all Americans.
- When the administration offered its legally questionable buyout to federal employees, we laid out the issues and potential pitfalls on C-SPAN.
- When the DOJ disbanded a taskforce dedicated to fighting foreign influence in our elections, NBC News covered our criticism.
- When the administration targeted CIA officers with buyout offers and risked exposing the identities of recent recruits, Bloomberg and ABC included us.
- When we learned from our sources that DOGE staff had accessed intelligence agency servers, we shared the news on MSNBC.
We remain undaunted in the face of retaliation and are committed to the government employees who are exposing what they have witnessed and documented. Their courage is why we do what we do. Please stand with us in this fight.
